Clinical Hypnosis is a collaborative process between you and your hypnotherapist. It is not something that happens to you but something you actively participate in. For example, if I invite you to close your eyes and relax the muscles around them so completely that they simply stay closed until you decide to open them, that is a suggestion. You are always in control and have the choice to follow that direction. However, choosing not to follow means choosing not to experience the process.
The purpose of hypnosis is simple. Both you and your hypnotherapist share the same goal—helping you make the changes you want to see. The more you allow yourself to follow the process, the easier it becomes to enter a relaxed and focused state called trance. In this state, your conscious mind becomes quieter, allowing helpful and positive suggestions to reach your subconscious mind.
Your subconscious mind does not distinguish between what is real and what is vividly imagined. Brain studies show that imagining something and actually experiencing it create similar patterns in the brain. This is why hypnosis can be such a powerful tool for creating positive change. When your mind experiences a suggestion as real, it begins to respond in new and healthier ways.
By aligning your subconscious mind with your conscious goals, hypnosis helps both parts of your mind work together to support your growth and well-being.

Your first step will be a 30-minute consultation where we’ll talk about what you’d like to work on and explore any patterns or challenges you’ve been noticing. You’ll also complete some paperwork to give me a clearer picture of your situation and needs. I’ll answer any questions so you feel comfortable and informed about the process. We’ll also discuss how many sessions may be helpful for your goals. On average 4-6 sessions are needed.
In ongoing sessions, you’ll be guided into a calm and relaxed state using gentle breathing and visualization techniques. You’ll remain fully aware and in control throughout. You might notice new insights or a sense of release, but the process is always gentle and paced according to your comfort. Each session is tailored to your goals, and I’ll check in with you regularly to ensure you feel safe and supported.
After sessions, clients often describe feeling lighter, more focused, and more connected to themselves. Some notice immediate shifts, while for others the changes unfold gradually over time.

Hypnotherapy can support you in making meaningful changes by working with the deeper parts of your mind where patterns and beliefs are formed. It’s especially helpful when you feel stuck repeating the same thoughts or behaviors even when you know they’re not serving you.
Here are some of the ways hypnotherapy may help:
Reduce anxiety and stress by calming the nervous system
Rebuild self-esteem and confidence
Release limiting beliefs or internal blocks
Heal emotional wounds including inner child and past experiences
Improve focus motivation and clarity
Support behavior change like breaking habits or managing emotional eating
Create new thought patterns that align with your goals and values

Neuro-Linguistic Programming or NLP is a set of techniques that help you understand how your thoughts language and behavior are connected. It’s based on the idea that the way we think and speak shapes how we experience the world and how we respond to challenges. NLP gives us tools to change those patterns so you can move toward the life you want with more confidence and clarity.
When used with hypnotherapy NLP helps guide your mind in a more focused and intentional way. While hypnotherapy creates a calm and receptive state NLP brings in specific strategies to shift thoughts habits and emotional responses. Together they can help you release old patterns reframe limiting beliefs and build healthier ways of thinking and feeling
This combination is especially helpful for:
Releasing anxiety or overwhelm
Building confidence and motivation
Letting go of unhelpful habits
Working through inner blocks that keep you stuck
Shifting negative self-talk into more supportive language
You don’t need to do or know anything in advance These sessions are guided and collaborative and always move at a pace that feels safe and supportive for you

FAQs
-
No. You stay fully in control and aware the entire time. Hypnotherapy is simply a relaxed and focused state where you are more open to insight and positive change. You can stop or pause at any time.

Most people can enter a relaxed and focused state, especially with practice. That said, hypnotherapy is not a good fit for someone who is unwilling to follow basic directions or intentionally resists the process. It’s most effective when you’re open to the experience, able to follow simple guidance, and genuinely interested in creating change. If you’re not ready or willing to engage, hypnotherapy likely won’t be effective—and that’s okay. Everyone’s healing journey is different, and I’m here to support you in finding what works best for you.

Most people feel deeply relaxed, calm, and focused. Some describe it like zoning out while reading or driving but still being aware of their surroundings. You may notice a shift in your thoughts or emotions, but you’ll remain conscious and grounded.
